Tema: Nuevos enfoques para enmarcar políticas de ciencia, tecnología e innovación (CTI) para un cambio transformador

Traditional Indian medicine (TIM) is currently most influential traditional medical system with the largest number of users worldwide. In recent years, the trend of TIM adoption has increased greatly, but the process of TIM internationalization has suffered from a series of setbacks for both internal and external reasons. The pace of the expansion of traditional Indian medicine (TIM) into the overseas market continues to accelerate. Both the Indian government and Indian medicine enterprises are making efforts to promote TIM as it moves into the overseas market. However, several issues associated with TIM, such as its complex composition, various effects of its actions, insufficient systematic studies during its internationalization, etc., hinder the adoption of specific TIM drugs in the internationally recognized pharmaceutical market. Thus, the process of TIM internationalization faces formidable challenges. In order to formulate strategies to achieve a breakthrough for the obstacles inhibiting the internationalization of Traditional Medicine(TM) in India, we need to modulate our patent policies and standard systematically. In recent years there is a huge upsurge in the use of traditional medicine(TM) around the globe. According to Traditional Medicine Strategy and framework of WHO (World Health Organization) 2019, Hong Kong, Japan, US and EU are major export destinations of TCMs( Traditional Chinease medicines). Trade in Chinese medicinal products has consistently maintained a rapid growth; and export value of Chinese medicines in 2015 amounted to $3.72 billion. TCMs  has become an important area of health and trade cooperation between China and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). International community’s always find it hard to recognize and adopt the quality standards and the standards of production management of TM. As a result, patent medicines lose their competitiveness the international market. The present study deals with framework for comparative strategies (with reference of china, EU and USA) and innovation on international market for TM, to propose solutions that can help facilitate the internationalization of TM of India and strengthening the patent regime for the future. In order to formulate strategies to achieve a break through, we studied about the obstacles inhibiting the internationalization of Traditional Medicine in India, for this we studied our patent policies and standard systematically because the government, academic institutions and industry must cooperate closely (public private partnership), and establish an international platform for the development and communication of TM rather than just the domestic efforts as we made in some extent. Apart from this, the establishment of conducive patent platform is needed for internationalization of TM which provides opportunities to develop traditional medicines, in such a way that helps in promoting global health. We are also analysing comparative strategies (with reference of china, EU and USA) and innovation on international market for Traditional medicine( TM), to propose solutions that can help facilitate the internationalization of Traditional medicine of India and strengthening the patent regime for the future.
