Diana Velasco
INGENIO
Diana is an anthropologist and a systems engineer. She also holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Edinburgh. Interdisciplinary research and practice has been a constant in her career. With a background in innovation studies, she has worked in the design and implementation of strategies and policies for research, social projection and teaching in universities. She has been director of research and innovation in Universidad del Rosario, Colombia; and Provost in Universidad de Ibagué, Colombia. Her main research areas are innovation studies, STI policies design, higher education management, and development studies. She has worked on TIPC as a Research Fellow at INGENIO, leading on the development of formative evaluation for different experimental policy engagements developed with varying members of TIPC.
Johan Schot
University of Utrecht & #039; s Center for Global Challenges
Johan Schot is Professor of Global History and Sustainability Transitions at the Utrecht University Centre for Global Challenges (UGLOBE) in the Netherlands. Johan was founding academic director for the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium and the Deep Transitions research project and is a co-director on the Consortium's management group. He was previously Director of the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex Business School in the UK from 2014-2018. Johan is an academic entrepreneur, who builds bridges between science and practice by applying a transdisciplinary research approach. He works with actors from different academic disciplines, policy-makers, governments, civil society, NGOs, the media and the business world to address the biggest challenges of our times such as climate change and social inequality.
Christina Miariti

Christina worked as co-Director of the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC) from 2020 to 2023. She has around 20 years of experience in Higher Education in research development and impact roles. She has managed collaborative awards (EC Framework programmes 6 and 7) for a research centre of the University of Sheffield (SEERC) and most recently she has worked with researchers to develop impact plans for grant applications as a member of the Impact team at the University of Sussex. She has delivered a range of workshops on research impact and has designed bespoke materials and guidance on related topics. Before moving to Higher Education, she worked briefly as a radio reporter and held Communications posts for Associations and NGOs. Christina has a MBA (University of Sussex Business School) and a MA in International Communications (University of Leeds) and is a Scholar of the Onassis Public Benefit foundation. At TIPC she has led on the operational and budget management of the programme and contributed to the design and implementation of the programme work, advancing the TIP theory and practice and developing further the relationships that the Consortium fosters among researchers, funders and Science, Innovation and Technology policymakers. Joining the thinking among different actors and promoting TIPC’s ‘learning by doing’ approach in the spaces for experimentation that the programme establishes globally is what is needed to address today’s complex global challenges.
