Blanche Ting


Blanche has worked on TIPC as a doctoral researcher, focusing on South Africa’s energy transition. Her case studies have involved coal, gas and renewable energy for the power sector. Blanche had previously worked for the South African government on Science and Technology, with a particular interest in industrial bio-economy, and Sasol as an Environmental Scientist. She was also employed at UNCTAD, Geneva, contributing to the Flagship Technology Innovation Report (TIR) on how society can adapt and harness the potential of rapid technological change. Blanche holds two Masters degrees: Climate Change and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), UK, as a Mandela-Sussex Scholar and a Masters in Bioprocess Engineering at UCT, South Africa. Her primary area of interest within TIPC has been on energy and sustainable development.
