Transformation Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC) research team in Ghana thoroughly analysed the Science Technology and Innovation (STI) ecosystem in Ghana, mapped actors’ roles and their responsibilities, against the backdrop of the different framings of transformative change process. The e-waste management system in Ghana was opened up for learning, and bottom-up emergence of transformative elements identified using the Transformative Innovation Learning History (TILH) Methodology. Innovative ways of improving future performance of e-waste management system and how to concretely contribute to the development of e-waste policy in Ghana were identified. Practical contributions and agency/power relations came-up strongly during focus group discussions. It was realised that huge top down approach to solving this transnational problem of e-waste alone will not generate the expected outcomes. Attention was drawn to issues of inclusivity, gender, conflict management, youth employment and livelihoods in the e-waste space. Reflections on national plans and linkages with reality in the field were recommended for further policy engagement on e-waste management in Ghana.
