Water Innovation Hub
Transformative Innovation presupposes the participation of multiple stakeholders on topics that are core to Sustainable Development. The transformation from research to market is along a continuum that calls for active participation from all innovation actors- industry (Large and Small), Government agencies, user agencies, research organisations, start-ups, academia, incubators, financing organisations, citizen’s initiatives, NGOs etc. The models of innovation depend on various factors such as policy frames, North-South disparities and the contextual underpinning that plays an important role in the conceptualisation and implementation of these initiatives. Our project in India is an Indo German cooperation at first, that brings the German experience in water technologies and cluster management to India, but seeks to establish a sustainable network of actors across geographies to learn, share and grow together. It also analyses the policy frameworks, the changing dynamics of innovation ecosystem actors, and proposes a model of collaboration for India that may or may not be aligned to what has been successful in Germany and other developed countries. In that sense, it is a comparative analysis of innovation models in developed and emerging economies.
