Barbara Kieslinger

Biography

Dr. Barbara Kieslinger holds a Master’s degree in English and Spanish Philology and a PhD in Lifelong Learning. Her research work is currently focusing on citizen science, open science and innovation as well as the relation between technological and social innovations. Barbara has extensive experience in international research project management and networking activities. She coordinated large research projects dealing with innovations in workplace learning, such as EmployID, and was recently involved in projects related to digital social innovation and the maker community, e.g. MAKE-IT, and Citizen Science, e.g. CAPTOR. Barbara currently coordinates an EC-funded project on open healthcare, which facilitates co-design of open healthcare for people with physical limitations and shares the experiences on the platform Careables.org. Barbara also serves regularly as external expert for the European Commission and reviewer for scientific journals and is member of the programme committee of TEL conferences.
