Prior to undertaking doctoral studies and Research fellowship position at Kingston University, London, Dr Julius Irene worked for Tullow Oil plc and Baker Hughes, leading and managing upstream exploration projects across Africa, Middle East and Europe. Julius scholarly work emphasize a perspective on redefining the path towards sustainable energy transitions, the SDGs architecture and climate action through innovative social experiments based on the concept of social identity and contextual realities.
Julius continue to develop research that intersects topics on energy, environment, policy innovation and societal transformation. Dr Julius currently serves as the Deputy Director of The Africa Center for Strategy & Policy and a Peer Reviewer with the American Journal of Applied Sciences. Julius holds a Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of Calabar in Nigeria, an MBA in Strategic Energy Management from Middlesex University, UK and Ph.D in Geography, Geology and Environmental Management from Kingston University, UK.
