José M. Peiró

Biography
José M. Peiró is Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Valencia and Founding Director of the Research Institute of Human Resources Psychology, Organizational Development and Quality of Working life (IDOCAL; 2009-2018). He is senior researcher of the Valencia Institute of Economics Research (IVIE). He was President of the International Association of Applied Psychology (2011-2014) and President of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (1995-97). He is Fellow member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP). He is also fellow member of the Spanish Academy of Psychology. Dr. Peiró served as Associate Editor of the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology (1995-2001). He has participated or leaded several research Project founded by European, National or regional bodies in competitive calls. Some of them in the field of sustainability nd climate change. He has researched on the topics of innovation and entrepreneurship and on professional competencies (see, Lunt, Peiró, Portinga and Roe, Hogrefe, 2014). He is Doctor Honoris Causa by the Methodist University of São Paulo, the University Miguel Hernandez (Elx, Spain) and Maastricht. He has been awarded the Aristotle Prize by the European Federation of Psychology Associations (2015), the Advanced International Research and Service Award by the International Council of Psychologists (2013), and the Life time award of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (2013).
